Mixed Media Sketchbook, Daisy Mixed Media Sketchbook, Personalized Sketchbook

By Julie | August 8, 2017

I ordered a sketchbook online and it came with a little rip on the side so, I decided to do a mixed media project on it to cover the rip instead of returning it. I was thinking of combining light tone colours and I glad I came up with this combination. I truly love how the shades of pink, purple & blue turned out. I used cheesecloth as part of texture and it also covered the small rip along the spine. I used matte gel medium to glue the cheesecloth on the cover. I also added a cut out chip board oval frame in the middle. I also added layers of white gesso, tim holtz distress paint, lindy stamp gang spray and viva inca gold paste. I also added a bark texture using a stencil and rangers texture paste. I embellished it with polymer clay flowers, leaves and name plate. I’m pretty proud of this book. It’s a perfect gift for someone special.

Steampunk Butterfly & Dragonfly Personalized Sketchbook

By Julie | July 15, 2017

This cover is a steampunk inspired butterflies and dragonfly journal gift set with personalized keychain and bookmark. Sketchbook size is (11.5 x 8.5 inches). I used copper and old gold viva inca gold, patina perfect pearls and old gold pearl ex for finishing. I added lots of texture and embellishments. This cover is all made with black polymer clay. I battened the nameplate to complete the steampunk look and added the back cover. The frayed edges just made it more appealing. I’m pretty happy how it turned out. I love the aged rich metallic look on it.
