Purple Mix, Personalized Mixed Media Journal, Spiral Bound Journal
It’s been really enjoyable creating these mixed media journals lately. It’s fun playing with colors and texture. This is my newest mixed media journal. I used purple and sangria alcohol ink. It is my very first time using alcohol ink on a cover but overall I am pretty happy how it turned out. I added lace as part of the texture. They are covered with several layers of black and white gesso, added the ink and layered with viva inca gold. Embellishments are all made of polymer clay with rhinestones. The frame design is a cut out card stock using cricut machine, painted with distress paint. This is a spiral…

Roses Personalized Mixed Media Journal, Custom Journal
I’m so happy for the opportunity to create a new mixed media journal design. This journal is like a garden. It signifies life with roses, bee & hive. I had a little bit of set back while creating the background colours. It was a challenge to get it right and at the same time, making it sure that it will go with my clay embellishments. I love a good challenge 🙂 The hive texture was cut from a cricut machine using 100 lb smooth card stock paper. I painted it…

Mixed Media Journal With Photo
I am so happy of what I made today. This is beautiful journal for my niece. I thought adding her photo on the front will make it special. I envisioned this journal to be on the shades of pink, copper and gold, something pretty in pink. While I was doing the 3rd layer of paint color. I was no where near to what I would like it to be but I am glad I was able to pull it together. Textures added are lace and some cut outs from my cricut machine. I used matte gel medium to glue them on the journal. I prep them with gesso and added…

Mixed Media Personalized Journal
After 2 days break, I finally created what I had in mind. A new journal cover design. This is my latest mixed media journal. It has shades of light purple, turquoise, copper, gold and silver. Texture used on this cover are parchment paper and heavy card board cut out from my cricut machine. Flowers, gears, lock, key and nameplate are all made of polymer clay. Base paint is gesso and then layered with metallic paint, sprayed with lindy stamp gang and layers of viva inca gold. I also painted the back cover, same shades to match the front. This turned out to be a good project. It was a lot…
